Imagine if your vacation took an unimaginable turn. That’s what happened to Jacob and his family, overnight. Off they headed to Sainte-Justine. There was no looking back.
A battery of tests confirmed that he had acute myeloid leukemia with a rare and difficult-to-treat mutation.
For close to six months, an exhausted but determined Florence and Jason took turns at their toddler’s bedside, hoping against hope for healthier days ahead.
It is that same ray of hope they saw shining in the Tree of Lights, made possible by people like you who stand behind the very best care. You kept that spirit alive for them, even when the cancer spread to 80% of Jacob’s tiny body.
Jacob loves the holidays and the magical lights that come with them.
Jacob’s now in remission and back home in Kuujjuaq. And he’s counting on you and your love to light up the Sainte-Justine Tree of Lights at this special time of year.
By lighting up the Tree of Lights, you bring comfort to those who need it most and give them access to talented professionals and leading-edge infrastructure right here in Quebec — the kind that leads to breakthroughs in medical research and care, the kind that have made such a tremendous difference for Jacob.
Thank you for making thousands of twinkling beacons of hope shine and for helping children like Jacob enjoy their childhood to the fullest.
