Committees of the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the CHU Sainte-Justine operates in an efficient way that at the same time encourages close ties between the Board of Directors and the management team.

These attributes of the Board are to a large extent based on the way it works by committee. There are twelve of these committees. Each one is chaired by a member of the Board of Directors and also consists of a few other members. Managers and members of the teams concerned by the issues raised join in the proceedings of the committees as required.

This way of working is demanding, as most of the members of the Board of Directors must also include many hours of volunteer work in their duties every month in addition to their direct participation in the meetings of the Board of Directors. It is, however, very productive, as it creates a clear and well-documented relationship between the Board of Directors and the management team.
