Pathology Department

The CHU Sainte-Justine Pathology Department is dedicated to paediatric pathology and foetopathology, whose expertise is well known worldwide.

The Department’s mission is to study samples collected from children in order to provide an accurate diagnosis of on-going diseases or operated tumours.

The investigation means available include optical microscopes, electronic microscopes and specific marking of proteins produced by cells.

The Pathology Department can also study cellular chromosomes (cytogenetics) or search for genetic anomalies causing cancer in children (molecular biology).
