A coherent approach to modernizing existing facilities and building future installations.
The construction of two new buildings namely, the new Special Care Unit and the Research Centre, are part of a broader modernization project that was initiated in 2007. This project will provide for a modern and coherent framework. By the end of the project, the addition of new facilities will bring the total surface area of CHU Sainte-Justine to 200,000 m2, an increase of 65% over its total current surface area.
Effective integration between education and research mission components
The Grandir en santé (Growing Up Healthy) project will enable CHU Sainte-Justine to bring its three missions together in a shared setting, creating a favorable environment for innovating and humanizing health care services. Its design was based on innovative approaches, modern architectural trends, and a health care services approach centered on children and families
Positive impacts for the health care network
As a university hospital centre that specializes in the health of both mothers and children, CHU Sainte-Justine strives to offer more comprehensive health care services. In this new environment, CHU Sainte-Justine will make available all its skills to health care professionals and the overall population, thanks in large part to its telemedicine programs, thereby transferring those skills throughout the entire territory.
Prime vehicle to promote economic development
With an investment of more than $995 M, the CHU Sainte-Justine modernization project constitutes an economic stimulus initiative that creates employment opportunities with an aim to further economic development and partnership agreements, especially within the community.
