It is the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Centre’s unique privilege to welcome Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on July 2, 2011. The CHU Sainte-Justine is the only hospital that the royal couple will visit during their ten-day Canadian tour.
A tailor-made program
Topics of interest expressed by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge mainly consist of the well-being and development of children, services offered to families, and human interaction.
The visit will last one hour and fifteen minutes. The program of the visit was planned based on their requests and will focus mostly on the human aspect of care by visiting with patients and their families and on our research and innovation vision.
The families and staff members of the following units will meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their visit.
Why the CHU Sainte-Justine?
The royal couple chose to visit the CHU Sainte-Justine as part of their first official visit under the recommendation of the Quebec government. This honour is credit to all of the employees at the CHU Sainte-Justine who contribute everyday to the well-being of patients and their families.
Their visit to the CHU Sainte-Justine, a site of great interest for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, is a testament to the centre’s position of leadership and innovation in the fields of health care, scientific research, education, and new technology.

This is the second royal visit in 52 years since the first visit made by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip to the Hôpital Sainte-Justine as it was called back then.
