As a World Health Organisation certified Health Sponsor establishment since 2007, Sainte-Justine UHC houses a Centre of Health Promotion with goals of primary and secondary prevention actions for chronic, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
These interventions start in pregnancy and go on through teenage years, tackling environmental and genetic factors. The Center for Health Promotion also vies for public policies conductive of health within sustainable development.
All those interventions concern general and at-risk population such as those from cultural and economically disadvantaged communities for which specific programs are developed in order to reduce health inequities.
