International missions of an institutional nature are mostly managed by partnerships between two institutions. Such partnerships have been in place for many years between Ste-Justine UHC and health establishments from other continents.
Teams are sent on site for clinical interventions and teaching. As an example, a partnership between Ste-Justine UHC and the Morrocan NGO "Bonnes oeuvres du Coeur" has been signed in 2005 and has led to four missions (from 2006 to 2010) that went to a new humanitarian clinic in Casablanca to treat heart malformations.
This partnership also provided for Morrocan doctors and professionals to come to Ste-Justine UHC for training purposes, shipment of medical materials when possible and organisation of continuous training by teleconference.
Clinical and administrative training is also offered when technologies are on par. Doctors and professionals from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America are frequently welcomed at Ste-Justine to better their knowledge. Those exchanges are an excellent way to attract and increase the prestige of high caliber professionals for Ste-Justine UHC.
Activities of the Réseau mère-enfant de la Francophonie (RMEF) are also part of that area. This network, a group of twenty university health centers located in ten countries is in place to substain best practices development in management, research, teachings and care. A seminar and internships for professionals and managers are organized yearly to that effect.
