Obstetrical Hematology Clinic

The Obstetric Hematology Clinic (clinique d’hématologie obstétricale) is dedicated to women with blood disorders, such as problems with:

  • Red blood cells
  • White blood cells
  • Platelets
  • Coagulation or blood clots

It is also dedicated to women who are carriers of a blood disease and are therefore at risk of having a child with a condition like:

  • Hemophilia
  • Sickle cell anemia
  • Thalassemia
  • Antibodies against red blood cells or platelets

A multidisciplinary team of obstetricians, hematologists, anesthesiologists, geneticists, pediatricians, clinical nurses, and laboratory specialists jointly monitor these women to ensure safe pregnancy and safe delivery for both mother and child.
