Become a volunteer

Eligibility criteria

  • Be 16 years of age or older to begin assuming duties as a volunteer
  • Be 18 years of age or older to volunteer in a care unit
  • Be willing to commit to a minimum of 3 consecutive hours per week for a period of 6 months.

How to become a volunteer

  1. Be sure to meet all of the volunteering eligibility criteria and send a reference letter either by e-mail or regular mail to:

  2. Participate in an evening information session (about one hour).
    Its date will be communicated to you following your registration. During this session, you will be asked to complete a criminal record investigation form. You are also required to bring two pieces of photo ID.
  3. Participate in a one-day training session (about 7 hours).
    Its date will be communicated to you following your registration.
  4. Once the results of your criminal record investigation have been confirmed, you will be ready to begin. You will be contacted and given an orientation of the hospital.
Note

Recruitment sessions take place in the spring and fall.
