The Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Unit’s mission at CHU Sainte-Justine is to support evidenced-based decisions, using a well-defined and transparent approach, while examining scientific evidence and conclusive data generated through field-based assessments.


  • Perform evaluations and assessments of technologies and health intervention methods to help formulate recommendations (decision-making support).
  • Promote the evaluation and assessment of technologies and health intervention methods at CHU Sainte-Justine.
  • Develop and stimulate a culture of evaluation and foster the training of stakeholders in that realm.
  • Disseminate results of evaluations and assessments from HTA/ Health Intervention and Technology Assessment.
  • Provide methodological support for the evaluation and assessment of technologies and health intervention methods to CHU Sainte-Justine health professionals.
  • Develop and be engaged in evaluative research activities relating to paediatrics and obstetrics and formulate an education dimension (integration of students).
  • Create new knowledge and transfer that knowledge to health stakeholders at CHU Sainte-Justine and Mother and Child networks including the Mother and Child Francophone Networks.
