Mother and child Clinical Ethics Unit

Striving to support the various health professionals faced with increasingly complex situations and to foster the development of an ethical environment, CHU Sainte-Justine created the Mother and Child Clinical Ethics Unit.

Objectives

  • Give greater importance to an ethical environment and culture within the institution.
  • Support and better equip stakeholders who continually face more complex decision making challenges so as to improve ethical decision-processes.
  • Become a mother and child ethical governance, support and development hub for the Mother and Child Network.
  • Foster field-level clinical ethics education and the development of specific knowledge and skills that are needed for working within the framework of paediatric clinical ethics.
  • Develop and take part in clinical ethics research projects both on the national and international levels.
