For effective and safe communication

Improving

This organizational project, which targets more than 2,000 people, including 1,600 nurses and auxiliary nurses, aims to improve communications in the care and clinical units, as well as to simplify the information dissemination process.

Project objectives

  • Improve the quality of the content to be shared with the nursing staff
  • Improve efficiency in preparing and disseminating the information
  • Improve the dissemination processes so as to mitigate the risks
  • Improve the satisfaction of content issuers, managers and recipients.

Through an integrated multidisciplinary approach, the project team worked in close cooperation with the main players, mapping out the communication process and identifying potential solutions for improving everyone’s performance.

The nursing staff is therefore benefiting from a new communication process for information from the nursing care, pharmacy, laboratories, and x-ray directorates.

Moreover, three key complementary communication methods have been deployed:

  • Florence & Cie

  • Les Rencontres Hot 5
Mainly intended for the nursing staff, orderlies and respiratory therapists of a given unit, these five-minute meetings are an opportunity to share clinical, administrative and social information, as well as recognition. They take place at least four times a week for each shift (94% satisfaction).
  • Les Rencontres Kaizen
These weekly 15-minute meetings allow the care unit staff to raise any issues they have faced and resolve them together (83% satisfaction).
