In October 2015, food services unveiled their brand new identity: Délipapilles.
“Déli” for delicious, and “papilles,” the French word for “taste buds,” it highlights the pleasure of eating well through new services and an enhanced food offer.
In this era of change, and in an effort to do their part in reducing costs and waste, Food Services were seeking to reinvent themselves and meet the needs of their users. The goal was to get up to date and compete with surrounding restaurant services!
With a new physical environment, a new signature, updated cafeteria menus, and, more recently, the personalized room service offer, the food services team brought an optimal solution to meet the needs of its various users. The entire process, which spanned over three years, is contributing to the overall improvement of the services offered at CHU Sainte-Justine.
New at the cafeteria!
The cafeteria’s signature is an appetizing red fruit with green foliage. The foliage is reminiscent of CHU Sainte-Justine’s kangaroo mascot Cachou’s large ears.
Personalized meal delivery services to the rooms
The entire Food Services team, the cook, food services representatives, dietary technician and the management team, including assistant chefs, worked together to offer this innovative personalized service to our patients, and it is undeniably appreciated! The nursing team also contributed, presenting the service to the users.
Through this personalized meal delivery service to the rooms, an initiative launched at the beginning of the year, clients can now choose their meals and snacks for the time they want, between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Choosing from an à-la-carte menu, patients place their order by phone and get a freshly prepared meal delivered at their room within 45 minutes. Patients, their parents or the care team may order the meals ahead of time, from the hospital or from home.
All patients—even those with the most complicated dietary restrictions—have access to this service.
