Advancements in genomic research across Canada
CHU Sainte-Justine will host and manage the new Canadian Data Integration Centre (CDIC), one of the ten “nodes” of the new Genomics Innovation Network of Canada. Philip Awadalla, researcher at the Research Centre and scientific director of the CARTaGENE database and biobank, has been named lead principal investigator of the CDIC.
The centre aims to foster collaboration between innovation centres across Canada for the advancement of genomic research.
It is critical in assisting genomic researchers to understand the causes of complex human diseases and develop appropriate means of prevention and treatment.
The CDIC was created through a $15.5 million investment from Genome Canada.
