The baby’s first name

Preparing for the hospital stay

Some parents are hesitant about giving their baby a name for fear that it will make them even sadder.

Choosing a first name or keeping the name already chosen for your baby will give them an identity and solidify their place in your family tree. We encourage you to do this. In addition, having a name to use will make it easier for everyone, young and old, to talk about the baby.

It will also help your children make the baby’s life more meaningful to them and to differentiate this situation from a future pregnancy and any related stress.
