Facts about the Cancer Centre

On the first floor, ambulatory care (day centre):

  • An oncology and hematology dormitory,
  • A puncture room (for conducting lumbar punctures and bone marrow),
  • A satellite pharmacy,
  • Three waiting rooms: one for children with a play room, one for teens with video games, and one for parents.

On the second floor:

  • A hospitalization unit with 32 beds (previously 24 beds),
  • A large kitchen for the exclusive usage of meal preparation (homemade).

On the third floor:

  • A hematopoietic cell transplant unit (bone marrow and cord blood),
  • Twelve beds for transplant procedures,
  • A dining room adjacent to a living room for parents,
  • Two bathrooms with shower stalls for parents (previously only one bathroom),
  • A laundry room.

On levels A and B:

  • Offices of basic and clinical research (data management),
  • The Leucan Information Centre,
  • A multimedia training room,
  • Offices of the doctors and secretaries of the Department of Hematology-Oncology,
  • Offices of professionals in social work and psychology.
