The VIE Project

Valorization - Involvement - Education

The main objective of the VIE project is to demonstrate the relevance and feasibility of an integrated intervention program for children and adolescents newly diagnosed with cancer.

Medical advances in recent decades have made it possible to cure more than 80% of children and adolescents with cancer in the long term. However, treatment remains difficult and restrictive. In addition, many of these patients, while growing, will have temporary or permanent limitations.

For this reason, a multidisciplinary team of researchers at Sainte-Justine hospital has set up the VIE clinical study for children and adolescents with cancer and their families. This team includes oncologists, kinesiologists, nutritionists, psychosocial workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers.
