Other services that could be of help to parents who have to undergo an investigation.

  • The assistance centres for crime victims, better known as CAVAC at 1-866-532-2882. Shaking a baby or child is considered to be a criminal act. CAVAC offers counseling and support services to victims, witnesses, and loved-ones. Their services are confidential and free of charge.
  • IVAC is also a resource that provides short-, medium-or long-term assistance and may grant financial compensation to victims according to certain eligibility criteria.
