Neonatal Transport

Families

Support to families

Parents and relatives go through hard moments when dealing with the fact that their newborn has to be transported elsewhere by ambulance. Powerlessness and grief are what most families feel in this situation. Our team does the most they can to reassure parents and relatives that every precaution is being taken to ensure their baby’s care and safe arrival to the NICU.

The CHU Sainte-Justine’s neonatal transport team works in collaboration with the referring doctor and care team to make sure that the baby receives the highest level of care. Our team shares their expertise with the local care team for the patient’s well-being and that of their family.

Before departing, our team pays a visit to the parents’ hospital room to bid them farewell. The team will answer any of their questions, a duty that is taken very seriously. Parents are strongly encouraged to take pictures that they can hang on to until they are reunited with their baby.

Thank you for your trust. Please know that our priority is YOUR BABY.
