    Career Summary

    Neonatologist trained at University of Montreal, I completed my training in Basic Neuroscience in Dr Gordon Guroff’s lab at NICHD, NIH, USA and in Dr Phil Barker’s lab at the Montreal Neurological Institute. These studies focused on the biochemical and molecular mechanisms involved in apoptosis in the developing nervous system and more specifically on the role and signal transduction pathways of the p75 low affinity neurotrophin receptor both in neuronal and non neuronal cells.

    Methodology

    • Cell biology;
    • Primary neuronal and oligodendroglial cultures;
    • Cell death-survival assays;
    • Protein immunoanalysis (immunoblott, immunohistochemistry);
    • Signal transduction studies (in vitro and in vivo kinase assays, gene induction);
    • Basic molecular techniques;
    • Transgenic animals.
