Dr. Lodygensky is interested in the neurological trajectory of newborns at risk of brain damage, seeking to improve cerebral monitoring in acute periods, identifying neuronal disturbers and introducing neuroprotective neonatal strategies. In its fundamental research laboratory, activities include quantifying the lesion load and evaluating the efficacy of neuroprotective therapies using multimodal MRI and new techniques in rodent optics, correlated with histological, biochemical and behavioral studies. In addition, with the Canadian Neonatal Brain Platform, which was established in September 2015, Dr. Lodygensky seeks to enhance neonatal neuro-imaging research in Canada by pooling the expertise of more than 30 collaborators.
