Neonatal Circumcision

Important Message

Given current measures for COVID-19, no appointment for circumcision will be made until further notice.

Thank you for your understanding.

Although circumcision is not necessary for newborns, the procedure is offered by the pediatric surgery department of CHU Sainte-Justine.

However, the procedure is not covered by the RAMQ and its cost must be assumed by the parents.

To proceed with a neonatal circumcision, the child must be between 10 days old and 3 months old, and must not exceed 6 kg.
You must book an appointment and pay for the circumcision within the first month (maximum 30 days) of the child’s life.

Steps to book an appointment

  1. You must come to CHU Sainte-Justine on Tuesday or Thursday between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm only.
  2. Go to Client Accounts office, located on Floor A, local 924, to pay the administration fees of $61.23. Various forms of payment are available.
  3. Go to the 5th floor, block 1, office 5, to pay the surgery fees of $240. (DEBIT CARD ONLY) in order to book an appointment for the circumcision. A receipt will be issued.
