An exceptional collective gift of $12.5 million dollars has enabled the implementation of a series of major pediatric oncology initiatives in the areas of personalized targeted therapy research, psychosocial oncology, and pediatric transition to adult cancer survivor clinic.
This remarkable contribution from major donors will allow CHU Sainte-Justine to assert its role as a leader in the treatment and cure of childhood cancers.
The purpose of the Personalized Targeted Therapy Centre, headed by Dr. Michel Duval and Dr. Daniel Sinnett, is to develop alternative therapies for children who do not respond to conventional treatments.
The Psychosocial Oncology Centre, led by Dr. Serge Sultan’s team, aims to advance knowledge and the level of care through a global approach adapted to each child.
The Pediatric Transition to Adult Cancer Survivor Clinic’s work, for its part, will be performed by Dr. Caroline Laverdière’s team.
