Research and Outreach

Research

Dr. Annie Janvier is in charge of the research program. The objective of the clinical ethics research program within CHU Sainte-Justine’s Clinical Ethics Unit is to develop a culture of ethics and clinical ethics-related skills and knowledge. University students enrolled in the paediatric clinical ethics program are encouraged to pursue research in clinical ethics under the supervision of faculty members of the Clinical Ethics Unit. All research projects are undertaken collaboratively with members of the Clinical Ethics Unit with a goal of being introduced at national and international conferences and being published in reputable scientific magazines.

The research mandate may take different forms:

  • Members of the ethics unit implement research projects that are closely connected with the practice of clinical ethics at CHU Sainte-Justine.
  • Program students are involved in research projects initiated by members of the unit.
  • Development and involvement in multicentered research projects
  • Master’s students in paediatric clinical ethics are registered at CHU Sainte-Justine’s Research Centre.

Outreach

This mandate includes presentations at various national and international conventions and involvement in regional, provincial, Canadian and international focus groups. Outreach may be achieved by members of the unit or through students’ involvement in the university program.
